Comtrend Corporation Announces Launch of VDSL2 Bonding Gateway

IRVINE, CA. - August 31, 2010

Comtrend Corporation, a global supplier of advanced networking solutions, today announced the release of the NexusLink 3100 series VDSL2 bonding gateway. Very-high-bitrate digital subscriber line (VDSL) bonding represents another example of Comtrend’s focus to drive CPE innovation and support carriers’ needs for additional services and revenue.

The new NexusLink 3100 series of VDSL2 bonding gateways rounds out a complete portfolio of xDSL-based gateways offered by Comtrend. The 3100 series of VDSL2 bonding gateways will support high-power 802.11n, a Gigabit FlexPort, and optional HPNA 3.1. Comtrend continues to focus on best-in-class interoperability combined with high product quality, rich feature sets and flexibility. This has made the entire Comtrend product line a favorite for service providers worldwide. Comtrend has continued to be an early market leader with ADSL2+, ADSL2+ bonded and VDSL2 products, and this is another example of that dedication.

“VDSL2 bonding presents service providers with another great opportunity to take advantage of the existing copper in use today, says Brian Nickell, Senior Product Manager, Comtrend North America. “With fiber deployment costs still relatively high, utilizing existing copper to deliver advanced triple play services is increasingly important. VDSL2 bonding will continue to keep costs low for providers while meeting the bandwidth requirements for next generation services._ The NexusLink 3100 series of VDSL2 bonding gateways include multiple versions based on feedback from Comtrend’s extensive customer base worldwide:
