Comtrend Corporation Launches CT-5374 VDSL2 Wireless Gateway at the 2010 Occam Networks Users' Group

Comtrend Corporation, a leading global supplier of DSL-based networking solutions, today announced the launch of its new CT-5374 Wireless Gateway.

The Comtrend CT-5374 is a leading VDSL2 Wireless gateway that supports both ADSL2+ and VDSL2 standards, and is thus able to support high speed triple play services, high-definition TV and interactive gaming services through existing infrastructure. The CT-5374 is a perfect fit for telcos looking for a stable and reliable router to support high speed voice, video and data services for residential or commercial settings.

Other main features of the CT-5374 include:

-integrated Gigabit FlexPort, allowing one Ethernet port to be used in WAN mode, creating a high powered broadband router for fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) deployments -four 10/100 Base-T LAN ports -supports 802.11n for Wi-Fi connections -supports UPnP and DLNA features -compliant with the TR-069 standard for remote management -Quality of Service (QoS) to classify, control and prioritize diverse traffic types -USB 2.0 port, allowing a hard drive or printer to be plugged in

For ISPs and carriers that intend to use one DSL device to cover end-users in different loop range areas, the CT-5374 is the ideal solution. The ability to have ADSL2+ and VDSL2 in one device creates cost savings for the total cost of ownership for ISPs and carriers. In addition to built-in DSL, the CT-5374 has a Gigabit FlexPort that can be used in Fiber-to-the-home applications. The CT-5374 can be managed through a web interface or via TR-069 to support remote administration, automatic firmware upgrade and configuration.

"The CT-5374 router gives telcos the ability to provide service offerings that create the perfect connected home environment," says John Castreje, General Manager for Comtrend North America. "Features such as remote management mean improved customer relations and cost savings, a winning combination."

"We are pleased to have the Comtrend CT-5374 announced at the Occam Networks 6th Annual User Group Conference. Comtrend has been a committed Occam partner for some time and we are happy to be working with them on VDSL2," says David Spence, Director of Business Development, Occam Networks. "The CT-5374 has been evaluated by our interop and test team with excellent results. Comtrend continues to provide CPE solutions that address the expanding bandwidth and service focused requirements of our joint customers and this unit is proof of that continued success."
