Comtrend's CT-FE1 is a single data port Fractional E1 Channel Service Unit/Data Service Unit (CSU/DSU). It is a full-featured FE1 DSU that connects high-speed data terminal equipment to E1/FE1 networks. Featuring a software-configurable DTE interface, the CT-FE1 supports an ITU-T V.35, X.21, or EIA RS-449 DTE interface. Bandwidth allocation is also software configurable and allow data rates of up to 1984 Kbps.

The CT-FE1 has an E1 network interface, E0 (64 Kbps) channel multiplexing, and connections to voice, data, and video DTE. It is ideally suited for point-to-point connection of multiple data internetworking devices. This unit can be controlled and configured through front-panel operations, a local terminal, or a SNMP management station through a modem.
